This is a minute by minute review of the BBC "Live Aid" broadcast on July 13th, 1985 :

This broadcast can be considered as the best possible. We have here complete performances of most of the Wembley performers and almost all the American performers, as soon as the satellite feed was opened at 17:00.

The few mystakes are : Apart from these three mystakes, it would have been very hard to play more performances because of the king size mess that was embrassing the two stages.

As the BBC is a public channel, there was absolutely no commercials during ALL the day, and many personnalities came in the studio to talk about the cause.

As a side note, the sound on BBC Televison was mono, but on BBC Radio 1 you could have the stereo synchro sound.
