Ok, Ok, OK !!! I've written "MTV did a very bad work on this day (IMHO)", but here it's even worse. (Note I'm talking about the TV broadcast, not the radio broadcast). As Geldof explains, he had to promise to many bands to appear during the Network hours of the ABC broadcast. Then ABC had to play with tapes and delay broadcast of live acts to the said portion of the broadcast but without showing some of the acts perfoming live !!!

At first, everyjting seems correct, but the more it goes, the worse it is. A Sade replay comes when David Bowie enters the stage, Spandau Ballet is shown when the Who are playing, and then Bowie is played when Duran Duran is on stage ... Imagine that Neil Young is no Longer on the bill !!!

BUT this broadcast is very precious to us, because it fills some holes in the other broadcasts, with the complete "Judy Blue Eyes" from Crosby, Stills and Nash, the complete "Brotherhood" and "Primavera Invasion" from Santana and a very short sample of Bernard Watson can be hear behind commentors.

So, not a "must have" unless for completists.
